When grassroots marketing gains some traction and is able to take a project from film festival runs to theatrical exhibition, we here at Cinefile sit up and take notice. Such is the case with filmmaker's Elizabeth Lawrence's feature doc debut Roll Out, Cowboy. The film is set to run from July 22nd through July 31st at Chicago's premier arthouse cinema Facets Multi-Media. You can purchase tickets for its run by clicking here.
Synopsis: "Chris “Sandman” Sand is a rappin’ cowboy from Dunn Center, North Dakota (population: 120 and shrinking). He drives a semi, plays the guitar and raps. He looks like Woody Guthrie but sings like LL Cool J. Roll Out, Cowboy follows the 39-year-old country/hip-hop musician as he tours the American during the impending 2008 Presidential election."
